Surfing Safely in Bournemouth

If not respected, the water can be a dangerous place. With a bit of common sense however, it can be extremely enjoyable. This short guide is not intended to put anyone off going into the water, but having a bit of knowledge will make it a whole lot safer!

The top bournemouthreef.com safety tips are:
  • Only swim, surf or kayak where other people are around should you get into trouble. Always let someone know where you are going.
  • Check the weather and the forecast to ensure you're not going out in conditions that are beyond your capabilities.
  • Always look at the safety signs that have been put there for your benefit.
  • Only go out where a lifeguard is on patrol.
  • If you get into trouble, put your hand in the air and shout.
