| Bournemouth Pier |
| Although Bournemouth Pier can be a good surf spot in the winter, the usual complaints are that it tends to be overcrowded, primarily
because of its accessibility. This can be avoided if you go midweek. The pier can also be very busy with bodyboarders. The waves are very hit and miss
but when they are good, they are very rideable. |

| Boscombe Pier |
| Even though the reef hasn't arrived at Boscombe Pier yet, it is still a popular spot for surfers. If Bournemouth Pier is crowded,
head down the coast to Boscombe. It is basically exactly the same as Bournemouth and can offer some surprisingly good waves. This area also
has a good reputation for beginners. |

| Southbourne |
| Most of the time it's a mellow beginners to intermediate wave, but on large swell it's a notorious shore dump known to break boards and limbs!
It works mainly on a SW swell but easterly swells can produce long, clean rides.
On solid swells outer banks begin to work on an old sea wall about 400m from shore. No shelter from SW gales and not for the faint hearted. - Paul Clarke |

| Kimmeridge Bay |
| Some argue that Kimmeridge Bay has some of the best surf on the south coast. It has three main areas - "The Ledges" which is great for smooth
long boarding (although a long paddle out), "The Bay" which is popular in stormy conditions and then "The Bench" where the most popular comment
seems to be "Not for the faint hearted". The Bench can have 12 foot waves but is shallow, so beware! |

| Sandbanks & Shell Bay |
|
Sandbanks and Shell Bay are the most popular destinations in the area for windsurfing and kitesurfing. With beautiful surroundings, it is a great place
to get on the water. The area is very accessible too making it great as a spectator sport as well.
